Alamo Square
If a city truly loves its residents, it does everything it can to charm them back into the fold after they’ve wandered off for a bit.
As curious, wandering and exploratory creatures we are prone to check and see just how green the grass really might be on the other side, and as a result we take our curiosity on the road. To places like Austin and Portland, Chicago and Seattle, Vegas and New York.
We take our open minds, empty stomachs and hungry hearts with us in our bags, documenting our joys and thrills with fancy cameras and cheap beers. We have the times of our lives, we dance, we shout, we raise hell—so yes—we live our lives—just in a different place.
And then we return.
It is then up to our old flame to seduce us back to bed and show us exactly what we’ve been missing since we caught the 9:15 outta town. Any city worth living in will find a way to, once again, catch our eye and steal our heart, just like it did that first time we met, and every single time we’ve had the nerve to leave.
This city, mi amor, I cannot let you go.
